Stress release and alignment to help the body restore itself

A Craniosacral treatment helps release body stress and misalignment that compromise the body’s natural healing ability. Systemic body stress prevents healthy flow of the cerebrospinal fluid, which bathes and cushions the brain and spinal cord in a tide-like ebb and flow. Also called the primary respiratory rate or breath of life, this is the first rhythm indicating life, as it is present in the embryo long before our lungs were formed.

When this fluid is allowed to move freely around the central nervous system, it promotes a state of well-being, health and balance.

Disease, trauma, tension and pain impedes this rhythmical flow and obstructs the circulation of cerebrospinal fluid. Instead of our innate ability to maintain homeostasis – adapt and adjust to external and internal change or “role with the punches”, we become rigid and compromised in our defended state and posture, leading to chronic pain and inability to heal.

Craniosacral therapy explained

Craniosacral therapy enhances physiological functions by the use of sensitive and gentle mobilisation of the Craniosacral system. This system encompasses the bones of the cranium, the skull, all the way to the sacrum at the base of the spine and extends to every cell of the body via connective tissue, and cerebrospinal fluid, which bathes and cushions the brain and spinal cord. It is based on findings about the body’s subtle make up by osteopaths in the USA over 80 years ago. Read more
